Afaq SG currently offers five different types of Qur’an modules to suit your goals:
1) Perfection of Juz Amma Recitation
2) Memorization of Juz Amma
3) Memorization of Surah Lazim (Al-Mulk, Al-Waqi’ah, Ar-Rahman, As-Sajdah and Al-Kahfi)
4) Talaqqi with Sanad (Chain up to Rasulullah ﷺ)
5) Iqra’ (learning to read the Quran via the Iqra’ methodology)

Important Information
• Qur’an School modules are priced at SGD$60 for 4 months.(If you would love to learn but are not able to pay due to financial constraints, please do fill in the form and indicate there, we will see what we can do for you insyaAllah)
• The lessons are weekly 1-1 half-an-hour sessions with the Ustazah you are paired with.
• Students will be paired up with an Ustazah based on their chosen day and time-slot, subject to availability*.**
• Classes are conducted online via teleconferencing software(either video or audio, depending on preference of the Ustazah. However, as the lessons are flexible, lesson appointments will depend on each individual student-teacher arrangement.
*Please ensure you are available during the time slots you choose.
** As our Qur’an slots are very limited, we will pair students based on first come first serve basis. Interested students who can’t find a suitable timeslot with us can request a list of alternative Qur’an centres from us via Email or Whatsapp.
Important Note: It is also the best that Qur’an classes are done LIVE mouth-to-mouth with a Teacher. We are providing this portal as an alternative for those who really cannot travel to meet their teachers. So, only sign-up in this programme if you Do NOT have the means to travel to see your Teacher.

1) Perfection of Juz Amma Recitation
Description: Perfect your recitation of the last chapter of the Quran! Once this chapter is fluent, it will insyaAllah be easier to perfect the recitation of the rest of the Quran. In this Daurah, you will be guided by an Ustazah through your journey in improving your recitation of the last chapter of the Quran.
Requirements: Ability to recite the Quran.
Duration: As long as the student needs. (Students who are more committed and motivated will take a shorter time.)
Certification: After the student has completed perfecting the whole Juz, and passes the test conducted, she can then move on to reciting the whole Quran with her Ustazah, insyaAllah.
After completion of the whole Quran, she will be rewarded a certificate of completion, insyaAllah.
2) Memorization of Juz Amma
Description: Get motivation to memorise the last chapter of the Quran! In this Daurah, you will be guided by an Ustazah through your journey in memorising the words of Allah found in the last chapter of the Holy Quran.
Requirements: Can recite the Quran well. Those who are not fluent will be required to enroll in the Perfection of Juz Amma Recitation Daurah before enrolling in this Daurah.
Duration: As long as the student needs. (Students who are more committed and motivated will take a shorter time.)
Certification: After the student has completed memorising the whole chapter, and passes the test conducted, she will be awarded a certificate of completion.
3) Memorization of Surah Lazim
Description: Memorise the Surah Lazim (The Surahs which are recited daily/weekly)! Once they are memorised, you can read them anywhere and in any condition insyaAllah.
Students will start with Surah Al-Mulk, the Surah which Rasulullah ﷺ has recommended us to recite every night.
Abu Hurairah (ra) narrated that Rasulullah ﷺ said: ((There is a Surah in the Quran which contains 30 verses. It will intercede for its reciter until he is forgiven: It is the Surah Tabarakalladzi biyadihil Mulk))
After memorizing Surah Al-Mulk and being tested, the student can move on to Surah Al-Waqi’ah. Subsequently, Surah Ar-Rahman, then Surah As-Sajdah and lastly Surah Al-Kahf will be memorized.
*Note that the student will be tested after every Surah. The Ustazahs will also be strict about the Tajweed and quality of recitation.
Requirements: Can read the Surah fairly well.
Duration: As long as the student needs. (Students who are more committed and motivated will take a shorter time.)
After one Surah has been memorised completely and the test taken and passed, the student can opt to continue with the next Surah or stop there.
Certification: After the student has completed memorising the whole Surah, and passes the test conducted, she will be awarded a certificate of completion for that Surah.
4) Talaqqi with Sanad
Description: Recite the Quran from start to end with an Ustazah who has a Sanad (chain of transmission) all the way to Rasulullah ﷺ .
Requirements: Can read the Quran very well. The Ustazaat’s teaching will be extremely strict to ensure that the recitation is as close as possible to how it was revealed to Rasulullah ﷺ.
Duration: As long as the student needs. This might span to about a few years.
Certification: After the student has completed reciting the whole Quran to the Ustazah, and passes the test conducted(by an Ustazah in Syria), she will be awarded an Ijazah.
5) Iqra'
Description: Learn to read the Quran through the Iqra’ Methodology (Book 1 to Book 6) before going on to reciting the Quran.
Requirements: Passionate and committed to learn how to recite well the Book of Allah.
Duration: As long as the student needs, depending on her speed. This might span to about one or two years.
Certification: No certification. After finishing this module, students can move on (if they wish) to Perfection of Juz Amma Recitation, and subsequently to recitation of the whole Quran, insyaAllah.
#1. Qur'an School
Specific for those who would like to learn or improve their Qur’anic recitation, as well as memorize its verses or talaqqi with sanad. AfaqSQ will pair you up with a teacher most suited to your needs, inshaAllah, and your learning will commence online .
#2. short daurahs
For Muslimahs who are serious in learning but find it hard to commit fully, the shorter daurahs (courses) cover subjects such as al-Qur’an, Tafseer, Hadith & the Arabic Language. The length of each daurah depends on the number of modules they each contain. Choose the subject(s) that you wish to study, have access to the course content for a year, and take the tests and exams only if you wish to.
#3. ISLAMIC SCIENCES PROGRAM (ISP)
For Muslimahs who prefer a structured form of learning, the five-year Islamic Sciences Program comprises of a fixed selection of modules each semester, with obligatory tests and compulsory exams at the end of each semester. At the successful completion of the program, a specialized certificate from Afaq Syria will be awarded.
